Beloit have lost their fifth straight after Quad Cities scored three runs in the opening frame and never looked back. The Snappers offence was shutout for a ninth time in 2017, while it's the first time Beloit was swept in a four-game set since doing so against Clinton between August 6th and 9th last year.
Astros prospect Daz Cameron enjoyed a 4-for-4 night, as he got the runs flowing early with a three-run shot to left field. Quad Cities added to their lead with RBI singles in the third and fifth innings as they finished the series by scoring 27 runs on 48 hits in the four games.
Snappers right-hander Seth Martinez lasted only five innings as he allowed a season-high nine hits, striking out six. Sam Sheehan, Joesph Camacho and John Gorman followed in relief, holding the Bandits scoreless through the final three frames of the contest.
Beloit managed only three hits in the series finale, two of which came off the bat of Jesus Lopez who singled in the first inning and then tripled in the fourth. JaVon Shelby struck out for the 148th time this season, tying the single-single franchise record previously set by Matt Olson in 2013 and Justin Higley in 2016.
