The Beloit Snappers are in search of official scorers, public address announcers and gamecast stringers for their 2018 season.

The Beloit Snappers are in search of official scorers, public address announcers and gamecast stringers for their 2018 season.

To be qualified for an official scorer's position, applicants must have college official scoring experience or a thorough knowledge of baseball rules and regulations. Applicants for this position must also be reliable and be very decisive in their calls. Former or current college or professional athletes are also welcome to apply.
Another press box position the Snappers have available is being the "Voice of the Snappers." Interested applicants in being a public address announcer must have previous experience, whether it be high school, college or professional. Applicants must also be well spoken individuals, reliable and willing to do select home games that may include national holidays.
Anyone interested in campaigning to become the next public address announcer for the Snappers must send the following to [email protected] by March 9 and must be available to interview at the next Job Fair on March 9 from 5-7 pm:
• A cover letter (explaining experience in public speaking, interest in position, knowledge of the Snappers, etc.)
• A resume
• Any type of recorded: 30 speaking sample in mp3 format

Because this is viewed as a multi-season position, the Snappers request that only permanent residents of the area apply. The team also expects commitment for most home games as well as other select events.
The last press box option to be filled is the Snappers gamecast stringer. For this position, applicants will be requested to receive training on the software by MLBAM (Major League Baseball Advanced Media). Stringers will input the decision made by the official scorer into the software, which is used to score the game on MiLB.com. Previous experience with StatCrew or knowledge of baseball official scoring is a plus.
For all press box related inquiries, please email [email protected] or call the Beloit Snappers front office at 608-362-2272.
These positions along with other game day staff opportunities will interview on Friday, March 9 at the Snappers second Job Fair from 5-7 pm. Other positions with the Snappers game day staff include Snappy's Pad, Mascot, Gift Shop, Event Staff, Game Alley, Clean-up crew and Program Stand.
