Patriots Opening Day As New York Yankees Affiliate Set For May 4th

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A Affiliate, will open the 2021 at TD Bank Ballpark against the Harrisburg Senators on Tuesday, May 4th at 7:05 pm. The game will be the team’s first as the Yankees Double-A club.
“This year’s Opening Day on May 4th will be a historic one for us as we play our first game as the New York Yankees Double-A Affiliate,” said Patriots President/General Manager Patrick McVerry. “The opportunity to join the Yankees family was the result of over two decades of hard work and building a reputation that earned us our call up.”
The game is presented by RWJBarnabas Health and features a postgame fireworks show in celebration of the community’s healthcare heroes. All fans in attendance will also receive a schedule magnet and an Inaugural Game Commemorative Ticket.
The pre-game ceremonies will include a dedication to Founding Chairman Steve Kalafer, welcomes from the Somerset County Commissioners and Bridgewater Township Mayor Matt Moench, and video presentations showcasing the Patriots journey to becoming part of the Yankees family.
The National Anthem will be performed by Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson and God Bless America will be sung by actress and singer Haley Swindal, the granddaughter of George Steinbrenner.
