New York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres was in town on a rehab assignment and immediately impressed in the field with a bare-handed play in the first. He then hit one of the Patriots’ home runs (1) in the third to finish the game 1-for-2 with a run scored, an RBI and two walks.

The RubberDucks had jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Steven Kwan, an RBI single by George Valera, and a two-run single by Bo Naylor.

Somerset then powered their way back into the game with solo shots by Josh Breaux (5) in the first, Torres, and Isiah Gilliam (9) in the fourth.

The power surge continued with a three home run eighth inning. Chad Bell hit the game-tying home run (2) before Oliver Dunn’s solo blast (4) gave the Patriots the lead. Oswaldo Cabrera then added a no doubt two-run blast (18) to center for the 7-4 final.
