The Last Cheer At Greer Begins Wednesday

Sounds Final Eight-Game Homestand To Include 7 Giveaway Nights, 3 Fireworks Shows, 3 Jersey Auctions, Throwback Thursday, The Final Sounds Game At Greer Stadium and Much More

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After 37 years serving as the Nashville Sounds' ballpark, Greer Stadium will host its final Sounds homestand (#LastCheerAtGreer) beginning this Wednesday, August 20.

The Sounds continue their playoff push with a pair of four-game series beginning with the Fresno Grizzlies (Triple-A Giants) from August 20 to August 23. The second half of the homestand will feature games against the Sacramento River Cats (Triple-A Athletics) from August 24 to August 27.

This final homestand will feature numerous giveaways, including Throwback Thursday t-shirts, jersey rally towels, Sounds baseball caps, a trio of poster giveaways, and color-changing Sounds cups.

A variety of events are also on tap, including the final Throwback Thursday of 2014, three fireworks shows, the rescheduled Star Wars Night, a home run contest for fans, and The #LastCheerAtGreer Celebration and Fan Appreciation Night for the final game at Greer Stadium.

Wednesday, August 20 vs. Fresno Grizzlies @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

Nashville opens the homestand on a Great Clips #WebWednesday, which rewards fans that follow the Sounds on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with special offers. Fans can also receive $5 off a general admission ticket by presenting a Great Clips receipt at the box office (up to two per receipt).

Thursday, August 21 vs. Fresno Grizzlies @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

Nashville will don the blue V-neck 1980s-style uniforms one last time for the final Throwback Thursday of the season presented by The Tennessean. During the game, a silent auction will be held to benefit the Nashville Sounds Foundation, and winning bidders will take the field after the game to receive the game-worn throwback jerseys off of the players' backs.

To commemorate the final Throwback Thursday in the history of Greer Stadium, the first 3,000 fans (21 & up) will receive a 'Last Beer At Greer' t-shirt presented by Family Leisure, Miller Lite, Travelink and Vista Apartments Germantown.

As with all Throwback Thursdays, fans attending can enjoy $2 prices on beer, soda, hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos. College students can receive one $5 General Admission ticket offer with a valid college ID, while all fans can receive one $5 General Admission ticket offer with the Throwback Thursday coupon printed in Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday editions of The Tennessean.

Friday, August 22 vs. Fresno Grizzlies @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

As a part of State Fair Night at Greer, the first 1,000 fans to arrive will receive a free Jersey Rally Towel courtesy of the Tennessee State Fair Association and DEX. The evening will conclude with a Friday Fireworks display.

Saturday, August 23 vs. Fresno Grizzlies @ 6:35 p.m. (Gates Open at 5:35 p.m.)

The fun at Greer gets underway early on Saturday as fans are invited to come between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. to take part in the "Smash the Guitar" contest, where fans try and be the last person to hit a home run off the guitar scoreboard. One winner, to be determined following the final Sounds home game, will receive a custom Sounds Guitar and a $1,000 gift pack courtesy of 104.5 The Zone.

That night's game will feature another giveaway, as the first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a free Sounds Baseball Cap presented by Vanderbilt Sports Medicine.

A number of events will take place that night, including a special Renew Your Vows ceremony that will be held on the field after the game and is open to any married Sounds fans who met at Greer, went on dates at Sounds games, or held their wedding at the ballpark. It is also Girl Scout Night, where Girl Scouts groups can order a special ticket package that includes a commemorative patch.

Saturday's game will also be the rescheduled Star Wars Night, as Sounds players and coaches will wear special wookie-themed Star Wars jerseys. A silent auction will be held during the game to benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee and Nashville RBI. Winning bidders will take the field after the game to receive the game-worn wookie jerseys off of the players' backs.

The night will wrap up with a Nashville's News 2 Firework Show.

Sunday, August 24 vs. Sacramento River Cats @ 6:35 p.m. (Gates Open at 5:20 p.m.)

The Sounds begin a four-game set with the River Cats on Sunday, which marks an encore Trevecca Nazarene University FAITH NIGHT® in 2014. A pregame concert featuring Mt. Zion Baptist Church will take place on the Plaza Stage approximately one hour before first pitch.

A series of three commemorative poster giveaways will begin Sunday, with the first 3,000 fans through the gates receiving a print that will commemorate the Sounds' first 12 years at Greer Stadium, courtesy of Family Leisure & The Nashville SCENE.

The final Military Sunday of the year, presented by Piedmont Natural Gas and Tennessee 811, will have the Sounds wearing camouflage jerseys. During the game, a silent auction will be held for the game-worn camo jerseys with the proceeds benefiting the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Winning bidders will receive the jerseys from the players on the field following the game.

As a part of Piedmont Natural Gas Military Sunday, servicemen/women, veterans, and their families can receive $5 off reserved or general admission tickets with a valid Military ID; limit 5 discounted tickets per ID.

This game marks another Autograph Sunday, where select Sounds players will be made available for autographs at the main gate one hour before first pitch.

Also taking place each Sunday will be Faith and Family Sundays, where fans can receive $5 off tickets by presenting a church or community bulletin at the Sounds Advance Financial Box Office; limit eight discounted tickets per bulletin.

Finally, Ozzie's Fit and Fun Club, presented by The Tennessean, wraps its season Sunday with a special meet-and-greet session between members and Sounds players. Ozzie's Fit and Fun Club is a program for children of all ages, offering unique opportunities and loads of fun every Sunday home game at the ballpark. Memberships are $15 and include a t-shirt, water bottle, draw-string bag and Sounds tickets.

Monday, August 25 vs. Sacramento River Cats @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

On Monday, the series of commemorative Greer posters continues with the first 3,000 fans to come through the gates receiving a the second of three prints, which features the Sounds middle years at Greer Stadium presented by Family Leisure and The Nashville SCENE.

Monday's game will also be a SeatGeek.com Dollar Monday. Fans are eligible for a $1 ticket offer with the purchase of a regularly priced ticket by showing their SeatGeek.com mobile app at the box office. In addition, concessions will sell hot dogs for just $1 courtesy of SeatGeat.com.

Tuesday, August 26 vs. Sacramento River Cats @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

The Sounds' series of commemorative posters wraps up with the first 3,000 fans receiving the third and final free poster, which showcases the Sounds most recent years thanks to Family Leisure & The Nashville SCENE.

The Sounds will recognize the NCAA National Champion Vanderbilt baseball team as Coach Corbin and members of the 2014 squad are scheduled to visit Greer Stadium.

Following the game, all fans are invited to come down onto the field for a Meet and Greet with Sounds players and coaches.

The Nashville Sounds and Twice Daily will partner up one last time Tuesday to provide fans a special two-for-one ticket offer. On game day, bring an in-store receipt from Daily's or Twice Daily to the Advance Financial Box Office to receive the offer.

Wednesday, August 27 vs. Sacramento River Cats @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

The Sounds will honor the ballpark they have called home for 37 years during Wednesday's #LastCheerAtGreer Celebration presented by First Tennessee, commemorating the final regular season Sounds game in the history of Greer Stadium.

The first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a free Color-Changing Sounds Stadium Cup to mark the special Fan Appreciation Night courtesy of First Tennessee, which features an additional $2,000 worth of in-game giveaways.

Once the final out is recorded, fans will be treated to Greer Stadium's last and largest fireworks display courtesy of First Tennessee.

After the game, two finalists will take the field for the "Smash the Guitar" contest championship, where the winner will receive a custom Sounds Guitar and a $1,000 gift pack courtesy of 104.5 The Zone.

Following the homestand, the Sounds will conclude their regular season at Round Rock, where they will play a six-game series against the Express (Triple-A Rangers).

The team is asking fans to help say farewell to the venue it has called home for 37 years by coming to Sounds games this summer and using the hashtag #LastCheerAtGreer in social media.
