The #LastCheerAtGreer Begins: Opening Homestand Preview

Including 3 Fireworks Shows, 3 Giveaway Nights, 1 Throwback Thursday, and A Special Ceremonial First Pitch From Houston Greer

The Nashville Sounds host their home opener this Friday, April 11, kicking off what will be the club's final season at Greer Stadium.

The team is asking fans to help say farewell to the venue it has called home for 37 years by coming to Sounds games this summer and using the hashtag #LastCheerAtGreer in social media. The Sounds' new ballpark in North Nashville is scheduled to open in April 2015.

The eight-game homestand welcomes the reigning PCL Champion Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals affiliate) for four games spanning April 11-14 and the Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) from April 15-18.

Highlighting the homestand's worth of promotions will be Opening Weekend presented by PPG Porter Paints, NEWS 2 Postgame Fireworks on Saturday, a Sounds Magnet Schedule Giveaway presented by PPG Porter Paints, the first Throwback Thursday presented by The Tennessean, and a Sounds Wall Calendar Giveaway presented by Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Opening Day: Friday, April 11 vs. Omaha Storm Chasers @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

The Sounds' farewell tour at Greer Stadium will commence with Houston Greer, the grandson of the stadium's namesake Herschel Greer, throwing out this season's ceremonial first pitch.

The first 2,500 fans to Friday and Saturday nights' games will receive Magnet Schedules courtesy of PPG Porter Paints. This year's magnet schedule features the commemorative "Greer Stadium: 37 Years of Hits" mark.

Fans entering the ballpark will be greeted by music from Bonner Black, who are kicking off the 2014 Nashville Sounds Concert Series, presented by BIG98 and 107.5 The River. The Sounds will partner with C2 Media Relations and SIR to provide live music at Greer Stadium for every Thursday, Friday and Saturday home game. Adley Stump will headline Saturday night's concert series show.

The night will conclude with a spectacular postgame fireworks display presented by PPG Porter Paints.

Joining the Opening Day festivities will be the Sounds flagship station 102.5 PM "The Game", who will take over Greer Stadium and broadcast both its morning show, "The Greg Pogue & Big Joe Show" from 6:00-9:00 a.m., as well as the afternoon show "Sports Night" with George Plaster, Willy Daunic, & Darren McFarland, live from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on 94.9-FM "The Game2".

Saturday, April 12 vs. Omaha Storm Chasers @ 6:35 p.m. (Gates Open at 5:35 p.m.)

As at the opener, the first 2,500 fans to the game Saturday will receive Magnet Schedules courtesy of PPG Porter Paints. A fireworks show will follow the game, presented by Nashville's NEWS 2.

Sunday, April 13 vs. Omaha Storm Chasers @ 2:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 1:05 p.m.)

Every home Sunday game at Greer this season will be a Military Sunday presented by Piedmont Natural Gas. The Sounds will wear camouflage jerseys, while servicemen/women, veterans, and their families receive $5 off reserved or general admission tickets with a valid Military ID; limit 5 discounted tickets per ID.

Also taking place each Sunday will be Faith and Family Sundays, where fans can receive $5 off tickets by presenting a church or community bulletin at the Sounds Advance Financial Box Office; limit eight discounted tickets per bulletin.

Ozzie's Fit and Fun Club, presented by The Tennessean, kicks off its season Sunday. Ozzie's Fit and Fun Club is a program for children of all ages, offering unique opportunities and loads of fun every Sunday home game at the ballpark. Memberships are $15 and include a t-shirt, water bottle, draw-string bag and Sounds tickets.

Sunday's Fit and Fun Club activity will be Youth Cardio Blast featuring drills and athletic movements made especially for kids to increase their cardio endurance, agility and coordination. This class, put on by Ozzie and YMCA trainers, keeps them moving for the majority of time with some light strength mixed in.

Monday, April 14 vs. Omaha Storm Chasers @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

Each week the Sounds are in town begins with SeatGeek.com Dollar Mondays, when fans can receive a $1 ticket offer with the purchase of a regularly priced ticket by showing their SeatGeek.com mobile app at the box office. In addition, concessions will sell hot dogs for just $1 apiece courtesy of SeatGeek.com.

Tuesday, April 15 vs. Memphis Redbirds @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

Twice Daily and the Nashville Sounds are partnering up each Tuesday this season to provide fans a special two-for-one ticket offer. On game day, bring an in-store receipt from Daily's or Twice Daily to the Advance Financial Box Office to receive the offer. More on Twice Daily 2-For-1 Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, select Sounds players will be visiting patients at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Wednesday, April 16 vs. Memphis Redbirds @ 11:05 a.m. (Gates Open at 9:35 a.m.)

Great Clips #WebWednesdays reward fans that follow the Sounds on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with special offers. Fans can also a $5 general admission ticket offer by presenting a Great Clips receipt at the box office (up to two per receipt).

Wednesday morning's game marks the first of three Education Day games of the season. For Education Day, students in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in a pregame parade with Ozzie and receive an Education Day workbook presented by the Nashville Sounds Foundation.

Thursday, April 17 vs. Memphis Redbirds @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

April 17 marks the first Throwback Thursday of the season, presented by The Tennessean. Sounds players will wear blue V-neck 1980s-style uniforms every Thursday home game this season, while fans can enjoy throwback $2 prices on beer, soda, hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos.

College students can receive one $5 General Admission ticket offer with a valid college ID, while all fans can receive one $5 General Admission ticket offer with the Throwback Thursday coupon printed in Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday editions of The Tennessean.

Friday, April 18 vs. Memphis Redbirds @ 7:05 p.m. (Gates Open at 6:05 p.m.)

The Sounds conclude their eight-game homestand at 7:05 p.m. on Friday night, featuring the third fireworks show of the year. The first 2,000 fans to arrive will receive Sounds wall calendars presented by Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Following the homestand, Nashville will begin an eight-game, nine-day road trip, beginning with a four-game series against the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals affiliate). Nashville then travels to face the Oklahoma City RedHawks (Astros affiliate) in a four-game set before returning home on Monday, April 28 to host an eight-game homestand against the New Orleans Zephyrs (Marlins affiliate) and the Iowa Cubs (Cubs affiliate).
