The brand-new All-Star Game rule that was talked about in a big way before the night started actually came true on Tuesday night for the 2019 Midwest League All-Star Game from Four Winds Field. After being tied at 3-3 after nine innings of play, public address announcer Gregg Sims announced that the game would be decided by a sudden death home run derby.

On a walk-off bomb on his final swing deep over the right field wall, Betts tossed a legendary bat flip as he was covered with the Gatorade shower.
The Midwest League has officially announced the participants that will compete in the 2019 Home Run Derby at Four Winds Field on June 17. With the format set up in bracket style, four players from each division will be tested in the ultimate battle of power for a grand prize of $1,000 to the winner.

The South Bend Cubs have announced the 55th Midwest League All-Star Game will be broadcast regionally on WCIU-TV, The U Too in Chicago as well as on WMYS, My Michiana in South Bend. In addition to the All-Star Game airing on June 18, the Home Run Derby will also be carried on My Michiana on June 17.
Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and Chicago Cubs All-Star Ryne Sandberg will be the special guest at the 2019 Midwest League All-Star Game and will be the keynote speaker at the All-Star Luncheon. The luncheon, presented by Four Winds Casino, will take place Tuesday, June 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Century Center.
