Because of the sell out rate, fans are encouraged to plan ahead and purchase their tickets in advance, especially for Friday night and weekend games. After drawing 354,070 fans to Four Winds Field during the 2017 season, the organization has high expectations for 2018.
"It's great to look back on the last six years and see what we have accomplished," said Team President Joe Hart. "Attendance has tripled, new amenities have been added, and the ballpark looks better today than it did thirty years ago. We're pleased but not satisfied. After another record setting season last year, we're ready to do it again this season."
For the second year in a row, the South Bend Cubs will open the season on the road with a quick two game series at West Michigan. South Bend will then return to Four Winds Field to begin the home schedule on April 7 against the Whitecaps. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Opening Night will feature a magnet schedule giveaway, live entertainment, flat screen giveaways, and a spectacular post-game fireworks show.
