The State College Spikes released their 2018 schedule on Tuesday, topped by the 2018 New York-Penn League All-Star Game presented by the Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau on Tuesday, August 14. The slate includes 39 dates of fun, affordable family entertainment on tap for fans this summer.

The cavalcade of NYPL All-Star Game events hosted by the Spikes in partnership with the Central PA CVB will begin on Monday, August 13, and extend to the game itself the following night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Fans will be able to meet and greet baseball's future stars and join the Central PA community in welcoming the baseball world to Happy Valley.

Ticket prices for the 2018 New York-Penn League All-Star Game will be $16 for Diamond Club seats, $14 for Field Box seats, $12 for Bullpen Box seats, and $10 for Outfield Bleacher seats. However, fans purchasing their All-Star Game tickets through December 31, 2017 will receive a $2 discount on each seat purchased, as well as a State College Spikes 2018 Calendar while supplies last.
Plus, fans putting the "star" on top of the tree by giving All-Star Game tickets as a gift this holiday season will receive a souvenir All-Star Holiday Gift Certificate.
Fans can purchase 2018 NYPL All-Star Game tickets starting on Friday, November 24, commonly known as "Black Friday." Tickets will be exclusively available online through November 26 ("Cyber Monday") at StateCollegeSpikes.com, with availability in person at the Medlar Field at Lubrano Park front office and by phone at (814) 272-1711 starting on Monday, November 27.
2018 will mark the Spikes' second time hosting the league's annual Midsummer Classic, after 12 major leaguers, including single-game home run record holder J.D. Martinez , appeared in the 2009 NYPL All-Star Game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. More announcements on 2018 NYPL All-Star Game events on August 13 and 14 will be forthcoming in the near future.
The Spikes will begin the 2018 regular season schedule with the Home Opener on Saturday, June 16 against the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies) at 7:05 p.m., with the 38-game slate of Spikes home games running through the regular season home finale on Friday, August 31 at 7:05 p.m. against the West Virginia Black Bears (Pittsburgh Pirates).
The Crosscutters will visit Medlar Field at Lubrano Park five times in the 2018 regular season, with additional matchups on June 29, August 15, August 16 and August 20, all starting at 7:05 p.m.
Spikes fans can also catch a total of six games against the Black Bears, who travel in for a three-game series from August 8-10 as well as a set from August 29-31.
The Spikes' most frequent home opponent this summer will be the Auburn Doubledays (Washington Nationals), who visit a total of nine times with three-game series from July 20-22, August 2-4 and August 23-25.
The Pinckney Division slate includes a pair of three-game series with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Cleveland Indians) from June 18-20 and July 1-3, and is rounded out by three-game sets against the Batavia Muckdogs (Miami Marlins) from June 24-26 and July 30-August 1.
Two out-of-division opponents will also journey to Central PA for three games apiece. The Vermont Lake Monsters (Oakland Athletics), defending champions of the Stedler Divison, come to town from July 11-13, while the Tri-City ValleyCats (Houston Astros) make the trip to Happy Valley for games from July 14-16.
Game times will remain 7:05 p.m. for games Monday through Saturday, and 6:05 p.m. on Sundays, with two exceptions. Fans will enjoy a pair noon starts this summer, with matinees on Monday, July 16 against Tri-City and Wednesday, August 1 against Batavia. Both noon games will feature the Spikes' popular Super Splash Day promotion.
