2011 Spikes outfielder Jose Osuna made his major league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, making him the 43rd Spikes alum to reach the big leagues on the Road to the Show, presented by HRI, Inc.

Osuna was called up earlier in the day, and pinch-hit in the pitcher's spot in the seventh inning against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 24-year-old grounded into a double play in his lone at-bat of the game.

Osuna played in two games for the Spikes in September 2011, going 2-for-8 with a double and a run batted in during a road series against the Williamsport Crosscutters.

Fans can see more future major leaguers throughout this summer when the Spikes hit the field to defend their New York-Penn League championship. The 2017 home schedule begins with Opening Night, presented by PSECU and NEWSRADIO 1390 WRSC, on Monday, June 19, and features 38 nights of fun, affordable family entertainment through September 7.
