With a brief three-game road trip against the Brooklyn Cyclones (14-31) the Spinners (20-24) looked to get back on track with a W.
Lowell got on the board first in the third inning when Yomar Valentin got things going with a double. After getting the runner over to third, Frankie Rios put the Spinners on top with an RBI-single. Later with the bases loaded, Juan Barriento reached on an error, allowing Rios to score from third to put Lowell on top 2-0.
Starting pitcher Enmanuel De Jesus was solid in 5.2 innings of work. He struck out four, walked a pair, allowed seven hits and two earned runs en route to his third win of the season.
The Spinners took back the lead in the top of the sixth after Barriento led off the inning with a double. First baseman Zach Sterry then drove in the run with a single to left, putitng the Spinners up 3-2.
Reliever Lukas Young picked up his first save of the season after striking out four on one hit in 3.1 innings of work.
With the win the Spinners remain 3.5 games back in the Stedler Division race. First-round draft pick Tanner Houck takes the hill tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
