Kicking off a three-game weekend series with the Auburn Doubledays (19-30) in front of a home crowd, the Spinners (23-26) picked up some serious momentum in their last series before the all-star break.

Auburn struck first in the opening frame, taking a 1-0 lead off Enmanuel De Jesus. After a rough first inning, De Jesus settled in nicely.

The Spinners immediately struck back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. Michael Osinski drew a leadoff walk and was followed by a Frankie Rios single to put runners on first and second. Osinski came in to score after a wild pickoff attempt at first from the catcher to tie the game at one. Marino Campana then extended his hit streak to 14 games with a go-ahead single up the middle.

Osinski led off the bottom of the third with a double to left then was brought home by Campana's second hit of the evening, a RBI double to left.

Auburn added a run in both the fourth and fifth inning though De Jesus was charged for only one of those runs. In total, De Jesus struck out seven, allowed a pair of earned runs, walked one, and allowed seven hits in five innings of work.

Ryan Oduber provided two shutout innings of relief with three strikeouts and a walk.

Frankie Rios got the late rally going with a leadoff double in the bottom of the eighth. Juan Barriento moved him over to third with a single, putting runners on the corners. Yoan Aybar then legged out an infield single to bring home Rios, giving the Spinners a 4-3 lead.

Lukas Young shut the door in the ninth, closing out two innings of relief en route to picking up his first win as a professional.

The Spinners look to continue their winning ways Saturday night for their second game against the Doubledays. Tanner Houck is scheduled to take the hill for Lowell with first pitch scheduled for 5:35 p.m.
