The Lowell Spinners, short season affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are proud to announce that LeLacheur Park will be hosting the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team for a game against Team Japan on Saturday, July 15th. First pitch is scheduled for 5:35.
"We are truly honored to host the Collegiate National Team here at LeLacheur Park." said Spinners General Manager, Shawn Smith. "It is our responsibility to provide the people of Lowell and the Merrimack Valley with unique entertainment experiences like this. It's quite possible there has never been as many future major leaguers on the field at one time as there will be on July 15th."
The USA Collegiate National Team is comprised of the best college players from around the country. Several USA Baseball alumni have played for the Spinners over the years, including current Red Sox Jackie Bradley Jr. and Matt Barnes. Other notable alumni who have played for Team USA in the Red Sox organization include David Price, Craig Kimbrel, and Dustin Pedroia.
