Eight First-Half Champions will represent the North Division
July 24, 2014

Spokane, WA - The Northwest League announced the 2014 All-Stars, and the Spokane Indians had a league-high eight nominations for the second annual mid-summer classic. Spokane players that will be representing the Indians at PK Park, home of the Eugene Emeralds, on Tuesday, August 5th, will be Jose Trevino, Luke Tendler, Eduard Pinto, Seth Spivey, Marcus Greene, John Fasola, Richelson Pena and Shane McCain.

Trevino, the season's first NWL Player of the Week, earned a starting spot at third base for the North Division. The 6th-round pick out of Oral Roberts is leading the league with eight home runs, and is second with 34 RBI. Greene, playing in Spokane for his second year, will start behind the plate thanks to his otherworldly on-base percentage of a league-high .459. Greene has 38 hits for a .325 batting average, and leads the league with 22 walks.

Spivey, Pinto and Tendler are currently the top three hitters in the Northwest League, batting .365, .362 and .357, respectively. Tendler also leads the league with 51 hits in his 37 games played.

Pena is the lone starting pitcher on the roster from Spokane. Pena's 2.52 ERA is fifth in the league and a team high. Fasola and McCain round out the Spokane selections in the bullpen as the two have given up just four earned runs in 31 innings combined.
