Indians Rout Dust Devils With Season-High 16 Runs

Tendler, Profar, Pinto knock in three runs each in lopsided romp
July 9, 2014

Spokane, WA - It was a true team effort.

The Spokane Indians scored a season-high 16 runs on a season-high 19 hits as all players reached base safely in a 16-4 drubbing of the visiting Tri-City Dust Devils in front of 4,591 fans at Avista Stadium on Baseball Hat Giveaway presented by Pepsi, Arby's and The Inlander.

Third baseman Juremi Profar, who is now second in the league in RBI with 21, knocked in three runs on three hits to push his average to .294. Second baseman Seth Spivey continued his hitting tear, notching four more knocks, and a walk, to improve his league-leading batting average to a skyrocketing .380. Both Luke Tendler and Eduard Pinto added in three RBI on the night thanks to two hits apiece.

The reigning Northwest League Player of the Week, Jose Trevino, added three hits and two RBI, Zach Cone collected two hits and two walks, and Fernando Vivili hit in a run with one of his two hits.

The haunting began instantly for the Dust Devils as the Indians scored seven runs in the first frame. Tri-City starter Ryan Warner - a 2013 Northwest League All-Star - gave up all seven runs while recording just one out before being relieved by Dylan Thompson. Thompson gave up five runs in the third, and the bullpen allowed two runs in both the fifth and seventh innings.

Indians starter Andrew Barnett pitched five innings and allowed four runs - three of them in his fifth and final inning. Darrell Hunter, Chris Dula and Luis Pollorena finished off the final four innings while not allowing a single run and only three base runners.
