Spokane Indians Announce 2013 Coaching Staff

Spokane, WA - The Spokane Indians announced today their field staff for the 2013 season which includes the return of manager Tim Hulett. Hulett, the longest tenured manager in Indians history, has compiled a 227-228 record in his seven seasons with Spokane, including the 2008 Northwest League Championship.

"I look forward to returning for another summer in Spokane," said Hulett. "The Indians organization is first class and I'm excited for the chance to compete for a Northwest League Championship in 2013."

Also returning to the Indians' staff with Hulett is coach Vinny Lopez, who worked last year with baserunners and outfielders in addition to coaching first base.

New coaches for the 2013 season include pitching coach Oscar Marin and hitting coach Bobby Rose.

Marin, who coached collegiately at Arkansas-Little Rock and Los Angeles Valley College, was promoted from the Arizona League Rangers for his third season in the Texas Rangers' organization.

Rose will make his professional coaching debut with Spokane in 2013. The native of San Dimas, CA played four seasons in the majors for the California Angels from 1989-1992 and was a four-time All-Star with the Yokohama BayStars of the Japanese Central League.

Ed Yong will return for his fifth season as Strength and Conditioning Coach while Sean Fields returns for his second year as Athletic Trainer. The Indians open the 2013 regular season against the Everett Aquasox on Friday, June 14th at Avista Stadium.
