Romo's Homer Seals Series Win for Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - Drew Romo hit a tie-breaking home run in the eighth inning as the Spokane Indians defeated the Hillsboro Hops, 3-2, in front of 4,495 fans at Avista Stadium for the Father's Day Game presented by Radia & 103.9 BOB FM.

TOP PERFORMERS

Romo's fifth home run of the year proved to the difference in the game. The 20-year-old leads Spokane in batting average (.297), RBI (39), hits (62), and is second on the squad in OPS (.812).

Andrew Quezada (4-0) picked up the win in his first relief appearance of the season, tossing four scoreless innings while walking one and striking out four.

Eddy Diaz reached base twice on a single and a walk, scored a run, and picked up his 21st steal of the season.

AROUND THE NORTHWEST LEAGUE

The Canadians (28-32) topped the Emeralds (35-24) by a final of 6-3.

The Indians open up a six game series against the Everett AquaSox (Seattle Mariners affiliate) on Tuesday, June 21st with Baseball Hat Giveaway Night presented by Pepsi & The Inlander.
