SPOKANE, Wash. - The Indians used a pair of late-inning rallies to come back and beat the Tri-City Dust Devils 5-3 for Christmas in July presented by Coors Light, 93.7 The Mountain, and 1510 KGA NW Sports Talk. The win gives Spokane a series sweep to start the second half of the season.

Ribby the Redband Trout made his customary appearance from the left field stands to start the bottom of the sixth inning. As his namesake indicates, he brought a Redband Rally with him. With the Indians down 3-1, Diosbel Arias led off the inning with a double, part of another three-hit night for Arias. After Jonah McReynolds walked, Cristian Inoa stepped up and smacked an RBI single to bring Spokane within a run. Two batters later, Starling Joseph hit a sacrifice fly to bring in McReynolds and tie the game at three.
The score remained tied in the eighth, until Spokane grinded together another rally that would prove to be the difference. With the bases loaded and nobody out, Isaias Quiroz blooped a single into center field, scoring McReynolds and giving Spokane a 4-3 lead. Jax Biggers would add on to the lead with a sacrifice fly later in the inning. Biggers also extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a base hit in the fifth inning.
Seth Nordlin didn't get the win, but he kept Spokane in the game. Nordlin pitched through two homers and finished with his third straight quality start. The righty from Arizona gave up three runs in 6.1 innings and struck out eight. Emmanuel Clase (W, 1-1) pitched a scoreless eighth and worked around trouble in the ninth to hold on to the win.
The season-long eight game homestand continues on Friday with the Indians opening up a five-game series with the Hillsboro Hops. Friday's game is Fireworks Night presented by MultiCare and 92.9 ZZU. Fireworks will begin immediately following the game. The game will also be broadcast live on SWX. The game starts at 6:30 PM with gates opening at 5:30 PM.
