SPOKANE, Wash. - Obie Ricumstrict continued his scorching hot start to the season, driving in three runs and leading the Spokane Indians to a 5-0 victory over the Boise Hawks on Storybook Princess & Fireworks Night presented by Valley Glass, 103.1 KCDA, and The Greater Spokane Valley Current Newsmagazine.

TOP PERFORMERS

  • Obie Ricumstrict tallied two more hits and three more RBI, raising his season total to a teamhigh 12 and surpassing his 2018 season total.
  • Teodoro Ortega got his first start of the season and gave up no runs in four innings. In three outings this month, he has given up just three hits in eight scoreless innings, striking out 10.
  • Texas Rangers 2019 draft picks' Kellen Strahm and Jake Hoover each made their Indians' debut and each recorded a base knock.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • The Indians bullpen threw five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four. Spokane relievers have allowed just one hit in nine innings against Boise.
  • Spokane's hitters worked seven walks on the night after recording just one in the previous three games combined.
  • Following his four RBI output last night, David Garcia worked three walks tonight and has raised his OBP 125 points during the homestand.

KEY MOMENT
Spokane worked the bases loaded in the second inning on a walk and a hit by pitch with two outs. After a bases loaded walk to Kenen Irizarry brought in the first run of the game, Ricumstrict broke the game open with a looping liner to center that scored two and gave the Indians an early 3-0 lead they would never relinquish.
AROUND THE LEAGUE
Spokane leads all of the Northwest League with a 7-2 record. Their lead in the North Division is three games over Tri-City. Spokane and Salem-Keizer are the only teams with winning records at home and on the road.
