Cardinals announce 2013 Promotional Schedule

Springfield, MO - With Individual Game Tickets going on sale this Tuesday at 9 a.m., the Springfield Cardinals are excited to unveil their Promotional Schedule for the 2013 season.

Fresh off winning the 2012 Texas League Championship, the first title in organizational history and the first professional baseball championship in Springfield since 1939, the Cardinals have a great slate of promotional giveaways to celebrate the historic achievement (all for 2,500 fans):

A big part of the Texas League Championship squad last year was OF Oscar Taveras, and the Cardinals will celebrate the season he had with the Vision Clinic and Oakley Sunglasses Oscar Taveras Texas League Player of the Year Bobblehead Giveaway for 2,500 fans on Sun., June 23.  Two more bobbleheads will make their debut during the 2013 season - the U.S. Cellular Lance Lynn Bobblehead Giveaway on Thurs., Aug. 8 and the Maria's Mexican Restaurant Shelby Miller Bobblehead Giveaway on Sun., Aug. 11, both for 2,500 fans each night.

The Cardinals will also pay tribute to another championship team - the 2006 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals.  Fans will have four opportunities to get their very own St. Louis Cardinals 2006 World Championship Replica Rings on Thurs., May 23, Thurs., June 20, Tues., July 16 and Thurs., Aug. 22, each for 2,500 fans.

Speaking of the big club, the Promotional Schedule will feature a special commemorative Cline Dental Stan Musial Statue Giveaway for 2,500 fans on Sun., July 28, celebrating the iconic life and career of the greatest player in Cardinals history, the late Stan Musial.  Additionally, there will be three can't-miss Busch Stadium Exclusive Giveaways this season, including the Yadier Molina Gold and Platinum Glove Award Giveaway (2,500) on Sat., May 25, the Rawlings Allen Craig Bat Giveaway for 1,250 kids 15 and younger with a paid admission on Sun., June 16 and the Purina Pet Food Bowl Mat Giveaway (2,500) on Sun., Sept. 1.  

The Hammons Field sky will light up early and often throughout the 2013 season with 13 total Fireworks Shows on the schedule, including the Home Opener on Thurs., April 11, the 4th of July Fireworks Celebration and Friday Night Fireworks Shows every Friday night, all presented by AM Pyrotechnics.  Brand new this season and starting on April 26, each AM Pyrotechnics Friday Night Fireworks Show will be set to a different music theme, ranging from Country Music and Classic Rock to theme songs from popular TV Shows and Kids Movies, and everything in between!  The Cards will also host the Mid Missouri Credit Union/Fort Leonard Wood Military Appreciation Night and Fireworks Celebration on Sat., June 22, paying homage to all who have sacrificed to protect our freedom and our way of life.

Other returning family favorites include 12 Hiland Ice Cream Sundays, 9 Great Southern Bank $1 Dog Days on Tuesdays and 10 Johnsonville "Buck a Brat" Nights, offering fans $1 bratwursts every Thursday night.

The Cardinals will continue their unwavering commitment to the community with numerous game-worn jersey auctions throughout the year, as well as a bat auction and a cap auction, all benefitting a different non-profit organization each night.  The Cardinals non-profit partners include the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, Champions Committed to Kids, Cherish Kids, Down Syndrome Group of the Ozarks, GYNCA, the Humane Society, The Kitchen, March of Dimes and more.

Additionally, the Cardinals will continue their series of Educational Day games, comprised this year of the Discovery Center Science Behind Magic Educational Day Game on Tues., April 16, the Healthy Living Educational Day Game on Wed., April 24, the Missouri Department of Conservation Educational Day Game on Mon., April 29 and the D.A.R.E.
