Cardinals LHP Kevin Siegrist to pitch at Hammons Field this Saturday

Springfield, MO - The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that Cardinals LHP Kevin Siegrist will make a Rehab Appearance for the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field this Saturday, July 12.

Siegrist, 24, took the big leagues by storm last season, posting a 3-1 record with a miniscule 0.45 ERA through 45 relief outings, playing an integral role in helping the Cardinals win the 2013 National League Championship. The southpaw made his Major League Debut on June 6, 2013, after stints in Springfield and Memphis early last year. Siegrist was one of five 2013 Springfield Cardinals to make their St. Louis debut last season.

This season, the Wellington, Florida native went 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA through 23 outings with St. Louis before being placed on the Disabled List. In his Major League career, Siegrist has logged a 4-2 record with an excellent 1.51 ERA through 68 games, tallying 77 strikeouts through 59.2 innings of work.

In addition to starting last season with Springfield, Siegrist was also a member of the Texas League Champion Springfield Cardinals in his first Double-A campaign in 2012. He was originally selected by St. Louis in the 41st Round of the 2008 June Draft out of Palm Beach Community College.

Friday Night Fireworks with Music from Kids Movies and the U.S.A. Jersey Auction coming up this weekend

The Cardinals continue a four-game homestand tonight against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Tonight's game features AM Pyrotechnics Friday Night Fireworks with Music from Kids Movies. First Pitch is set for 7:10pm, gates open at 6:10pm.

Then the series wraps up on Saturday with a 6:10pm First Pitch against the Naturals. The Cardinals will be suiting up in the Specialty U.S.A. Jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game to benefit the Humane Society. Gates open at 5:10pm.
