Cardinals 'Voice' Moving to Triple-A

Springfield, MO - The Springfield Cardinals are excited to announce that their Radio Broadcaster and Manager of Public Relations, Jeff Levering, has accepted a position to be the next broadcaster of the Pawtucket Red Sox in the Triple-A International League.

"The last couple of weeks have been very humbling to say the very least," Levering said. "I have loved every day that I have been with the Cardinals and the city of Springfield will always hold a very special place in my heart.  It was not an easy decision to make, but ultimately, moving to Pawtucket is best for my family and for advancing my career to the next level."

Levering was hired by the Cardinals in February of 2010 and has been behind the mic for every game over the last three seasons, including their first Texas League Championship in 2012.

"We could not be more proud of Jeff on his rise to Triple-A," Vice President/General Manager, Matt Gifford said. "He has been a wonderful complement to our staff and his presence within the community will be missed. We can't thank him enough for his dedication to the Cardinals over the last three years and wish him the best on his way towards the big leagues."

The Springfield Cardinals have opened a nation-wide search to find Levering's replacement and hope to fill the position quickly.

The regular season begins for the Cardinals on the road in 43 days against the Corpus Christi Hooks. The Hammons Field opener is just 50 days away on April 11th.  Call (417) 863-0395 or visit the brand new springfieldcardinals.com for ticket information.
