St. Louis Cardinals coming to Hammons Field

September 6, 2016

Springfield, MO - The Springfield Cardinals are excited to announce that the 11-time World Champion St. Louis Cardinals will play an Exhibition Game against their Double-A Affiliate at Hammons Field on Friday, March 31 at 5:05pm.

"Having a chance to play host to the St. Louis Cardinals here in Springfield is such an honor," said Springfield Cardinals Vice President/General Manager Matt Gifford. "Not only is it a special treat for our fans to see the likes of Yadier Molina, Matt Carpenter, Adam Wainwright and all the great Cardinals players up close, but it'll also be a heartfelt homecoming for the all of the guys who have come through Hammons Field to return and see the fans that have supported them on their journey to the big leagues."

"We are excited to announce that we will be playing exhibition games with two of our high-level minor league affiliates in both Memphis and Springfield next spring," stated Cardinals Senior Vice President/General Manager John Mozeliak. "It's always a plus for the Cardinals organization when we have the opportunity to connect with our many fans outside of the St. Louis region who offer such enthusiastic support for both our Major and Minor League teams."

With the St. Louis Cardinals returning to Hammons Field for the first time since 2012, ticket demand will be unprecedented for this special night at the ballpark. The only way to guarantee a seat for the 2017 Cardinals vs. Cardinals game is to place a non-refundable deposit on a 2017 Springfield Cardinals Season Ticket Plan or Mini Pack. A $100 per seat deposit on a Season Ticket Plan or a $50 deposit on a Mini Pack will guarantee you the opportunity to order a seat to see the St. Louis Cardinals at Hammons Field in 2017.

Current Season Ticket Holders will receive top seating priority for the Exhibition Game and will be placed in or as close to their season seats as possible. Current Season Ticket Holders only need to renew their plan for 2017 prior to the Season Ticket Renewal Deadline to guarantee the opportunity to order a seat for the Exhibition Game. Season Ticket Renewal information will be sent to current Season Ticket Holders in the near future.

New Season Ticket Holders will receive the next level of seating priority for the Exhibition Game. In addition to the opportunity to order a seat for the Cardinals vs. Cardinals game, Season Ticket Plans are the absolute best way to enjoy Springfield Cardinals Baseball all season long. Available in 18, 35 and 70-game varieties, Reserved Seat Season Ticket Plans begin around $150. Among the incredible benefits, Reserved Seat Season Ticket Holders gain exclusive access to the Promo Club, the only way to guarantee every 2017 Promotional Giveaway Item, as well as a special Season Ticket Holder gift, a commemorative pin and ticket exchange privileges. All Season Ticket Holders also have their name and/or personalized message displayed on the Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Wall, right inside the Main Gates at Hammons Field. Exhibition Game seating priority among New Season Ticket Holders is based on the date you put down your deposit.

The next best ticket option and only other way to guarantee an opportunity to order a seat for the Exhibition Game is a 2017 Mini Pack. Mini Packs guarantee you great seats for five can't-miss games at Hammons Field, including four Premium Giveaway Nights (with guaranteed giveaway items on those nights) and one Friday Night Fireworks Game. With a seat for the Exhibition Game as well, a 2017 Mini Pack will get you a ticket to six of the best nights at the ballpark for only $90. Mini Packs come with Dugout Box Tickets for Regular Season games. Mini Packs will guarantee you a Field Box Ticket or a General Admission Ticket for the Exhibition Game, based on availability. There are 500 Field Box Tickets reserved for the Exhibition Game for Mini Pack Holders, and seating priority among Mini Pack Holders is based on the date you put down your deposit.

Any remaining tickets for the Exhibition Game will go on sale in late March. If available, Field Box Tickets for the Exhibition Game will be $40, while General Admission Tickets will be $30. Both Field Box Tickets and General Admission Tickets for the Exhibition Game will include a ticket to the Springfield Cardinals Opening Night Game at Hammons Field on Thursday, April 13, 2017.

In addition to the Exhibition Game, Friday, March 31 will be a full night of the best baseball in the Ozarks as the Missouri State Bears will host Bradley University after the Cardinals vs. Cardinals game. Tickets to the Exhibition Game will also include access to that night's Missouri State game, which is scheduled to begin at 8pm. Missouri State Season Ticket Holders coming to that night's Bears game may enter the ballpark with their Bears ticket starting at 7:30pm.
