PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (June 12, 2018) - The Daytona Tortugas swept the St. Lucie Mets in a doubleheader on Tuesday at First Data Field.
The Tortugas won the first game 6-1 and won the second game 8-2.
In game 1, the Mets trailed 2-1 in the sixth and put the tying run on third base with two outs but could not get the run home. In the top of the seventh inning the Tortugas broke the game open with four unearned runs after the Mets committed four errors.
Mets starter Michael Gibbons only gave up two runs and five hits over 5.2 innings.

In game 2, the first six Tortugas reached on hits and four runs scored before the first out was recorded. Mets starter
The Mets nearly came back from the 4-0 deficit in the bottom of the first.
The Daytona offense took over from there. The Tortugas scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to go up 7-2.
Lindsay went 2 for 2 with a walk. Carpio went 2 for 3.
Moss pitched five innings to get the win.
The Mets have been swept in their last three doubleheaders, all at home. Overall they have lost seven consecutive doubleheader games.
The victories for the Tortugas moved them back into first place in the FSL North Division.
The Mets (26-35) and Tortugas (34-28) get back to a normal schedule on Wednesday. They will play a single nine-inning game at First Data Field beginning at 6:30 p.m.
