_OMAHA, NE _*(August 4, 2022) - *There was no major comeback from the St. Paul Saints on Thursday night at Werner Park. They fell behind 7-0 after four innings and that proved too much in a 9-3 loss at the hands of the Omaha Storm Chasers.

Jordan Balazovic worked a scoreless first two innings, but in the third the Storm Chasers grabbed the lead by putting up five runs. The first five hitters reached as Jimmy Govern led off with a bloop single to right. Drew Waters followed with a single to center putting runners at first and second. Iván Castillo made it 1-0 with an RBI single to left-center. Brent Rooker added to the lead making it 2-0 with an RBI single to left-center. A walk to Brewer Hicklen loaded the bases and, with one out, Clay Dungan unloaded them with a triple increasing the lead to 5-0.

Rooker continued to hurt his former team in the fourth. Against Ronny Henriquez, Waters singled to right-center with one out. With two outs, Rooker hit a two-run homer to left, his first with the Storm Chasers in his first game since being traded to the Kansas City Royals organization, making it 7-0.

The Saints got on the board in the fifth courtesy of a solo home run from Elliot Soto, his fourth of the season, making it 7-1.

In the seventh the Saints made it 7-2 as John Andreoli roped a one out double to right. Curtis Terry walked and Nash Knight knocked home Andreoli with a singe to center.

The Storm Chasers answered in the bottom of the inning as Gabriel Cancel knocked home a pair with two outs and two on, making it a seven-run game again at 9-2.

Caleb Hamilton, who was optioned to the Saints on Wednesday, delivered a solo homer in the eighth, his 11th of the season, putting the final run on the board. The home run extended Hamilton’s streak to nine consecutive games with an extra base hit and six consecutive games with an RBI.

The same two teams meet in game four of a six-game series at Werner Park at 7:05 p.m. The Saints send RHP Dereck Rodríguez (5-3, 4.70) and the Storm Chasers are TBA. The game can be heard on KFAN Plus, 96.7 FM.
