JOB TITLE: BATBOY

DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS

SUPERVISOR: ASSISTANT GM OF OPERATIONS

REPORT TIME: 1 HOUR PRIOR TO GATES OPENING

JOB DUTIES:

PREGAME DUTIES

  • Attend gameday meeting with Assistant GM of Operations and cover daily duties and specific daily tasks that need completed.
  • Stock assigned dugouts and bullpens with water, sports drinks, and towels. Place water and sports drinks in coolers.
  • Collect baseballs and any trash left on the field at the completion of batting practice for both home and visiting teams.
  • Once the above duties are complete, batboys should dress in appropriate uniform.
  • Collect baseballs in the batting cages and use vacuum when needed.
  • Empty all batting cage trash cans and dispose of trash in the dumpster.
  • Perform basic housekeeping in the cage area.
  • Breakdown empty boxes throughout the clubhouse/cage area and dispose of in the dumpster.
  • Place empty water cooler bottles in the hallway.
  • Put away the water bottle order on the water bottle delivery day.

IN-GAME DUTIES

  • Pickup baseball bat after each batter on your assigned team.
  • Stock the home plate umpire with baseballs when requested by the umpire.

POST-GAME DUTIES

  • Collect and place on cart, all equipment, food, resin bags, pine tar and donuts.
  • Return the filled cart to the hallway.
  • Empty, rinse, and sanitize coolers.
  • Sweep the tunnels to the dugouts. All mud, gum, and debris must be removed.
  • Remove garbage from your assigned locker room and place in the dumpster.
  • Inspect all assigned areas for any follow-up cleaning.
  • Check out with your supervisor and return your uniform to him.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
