JOB TITLE: USHER/TICKET TAKER

DEPARTMENT: USHER

SUPERVISOR: HEAD USHER

REPORT TIME: 1 HOUR PRIOR TO GATES OPENING

JOB DUTIES:

  • Ticket Takers will greet patrons at the gates, scan tickets and welcome patrons to the ballpark.
  • Ushers are assigned to a section in the ballpark, greet patrons and help seat patrons in their ticketed seats, maintain clear aisles, ensure patrons' safety, watch for foul balls/bats, and to insure everyone has a fun experience.
  • Have an outgoing personality, enjoy working with people, and be willing to acquire general knowledge of the State College Spikes and ballpark.
  • Answer/address any questions or concerns that patrons have or direct them to the Customer Service Center with questions you are unable to answer.
  • Wait for supervisor's final instructions before being dismissed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Customer service experience and the love of baseball is helpful but not required. Qualifications must include: strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a public environment, availability to work a variety of hours including weekdays, weekends and most evenings, dependability, and being self-motivated. ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES FOR THIS POSITION MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
