Spikes release 2019 schedule

Season seats now on sale, 38-game slate runs from June 15 to September 1

The State College Spikes have released their 2019 New York-Penn League schedule. Fans can make sure to catch all 38 home games by purchasing 2019 Season Seat Memberships, now on sale through the Spikes Ticket Office by phone at (814) 272-1711 and online at StateCollegeSpikes.com.

The home slate begins with an Opening Night matchup against the Wililamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies) on Saturday, June 15. The Spikes and Crosscutters will also meet in the 2019 regular season home finale at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Sunday, September 1.

State College and Williamsport are scheduled for a total of 14 matchups this season, with the Spikes hosting the Crosscutters for two games from June 19-20, a three-game series from July 20-22, and an August 13 matchup that will kick off a seven-game homestand.

More Pinckney Division foes will fill the home schedule, as the West Virginia Black Bears (Pittsburgh Pirates) visit Happy Valley for a three-game set from July 26-28 and again for a trio of games from August 25-27. The defending division champion Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Cleveland Indians) will also come to State College for a pair of three-game series from June 25-27 and August 14-16.

The Spikes will also host the Auburn Doubledays (Washington Nationals) for three games each from June 28-30 and August 17-19. The Batavia Muckdogs (Miami Marlins) round out the list of divisional opponents and will make the trek to Central PA for three-game series from July 7-9 and August 8-10.

Fans of the New York Yankees will also be able to see their team's prospects play in Happy Valley as the Staten Island Yankees visit Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for a three-game series from July 13-15. The Vermont Lake Monsters (Oakland Athletics) will also make a road trip to take on the Spikes for three games from July 30-August 1.

Nearly half of the Spikes' 2019 home schedule will take place on the weekends, with seven home games each on Saturdays and Sundays this year and an additional four Friday home contests.

The Spikes will also play 38 games on the road this season, with a full complement of division games along with three-game series against the Tri-City ValleyCats (Houston Astros) and Lowell Spinners (Boston Red Sox).
