STATEN ISLAND--The Staten Island Yankees fell to the Brooklyn Cyclones 5-4 in the home regular season finale at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

Brooklyn jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three and a half innings of play, but the Yankees would respond in the bottom of the fourth. Jackson Thoreson and Junior Soto each drove in two RBIs on back-to-back doubles to score four runs in the fourth to get back within one run.

Ron Marinacchio and Austin Gardner silenced the Brooklyn bats the rest of the way, but the Yankees would not score again after the fourth inning.

The loss eliminated Staten Island from NY-Penn League playoff contention.

Both teams play each other again tomorrow in the season finale at MCU Park in Brooklyn. First pitch is scheduled for 4p.m.
