STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.-The Staten Island Yankees defeated the Tri-City ValleyCats 9-0 in the first game of a three-game set at Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George on Monday night.

Offensively, the Yankees scored five runs in the first inning led by big hits from Jake Sanford and Ezequiel Duran who each drove in a run in the inning.
Oswald Peraza would add a second inning home run to make it 6-0 Yankees and the Baby Bombers were not done yet.
