STOCKTON, Calif.- The Stockton Ports and Oakland Athletics have confirmed that Josh Phegley will make a Major League rehabilitation appearance in Stockton tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 11 versus the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Tomorrow's game is set to begin at 11:10am and Wednesday's game at 7:10pm.
Phegley is expected to play for the Ports after being placed on the disabled list back on March 19 due to two fractures in his right hand. He suffered the injuries when he was struck by a foul tip in the ninth inning of a Spring Training game versus the Mariners.
The catcher originally came over to the A's organization in a trade with the Chicago White Sox back in 2014 and played in 57 games last season for the Athletics.
The two games Phegley is scheduled to play in are the last two games of the opening homestand for the Ports before the team hits the road for the first time this season. Tuesday, April 10 is the Ports first Education Day of the year, presented by Delta Charter Schools, with gates opening at 10:00am to the general public. Wednesday, April 11 is Baseball Bingo, presented by Food 4 Less and Rancho San Miguel Markets, and JAR Insurance Silver Slugger Night. Gates on Wednesday will open at 6:00pm to the general public.
