SAN JOSE, Ca.- The Ports tallied 11 hits but allowed three home runs to the Giants as Stockton dropped its fifth straight to San Jose, falling 11-6 in the series finale at Excite Ballpark on Sunday evening.

The Ports (41-70) took the early lead in the top of the first inning against San Jose starter Will Bednar. After a T.J. Schofield-Sam two out single, Kevin Richards reached on an infield single and an errant throw by Giants' shortstop Abdiel Layer allowed Schofield-Sam to score from first base to make it 1-0 Ports.

The Giants (72-42) immediately took the lead in the bottom of the first against Ports' starter Angello Infante on back-to-back solo home runs to lead off the frame by Layer and Jimmy Glowenke to make it 2-1.

Facing Giants' reliever Tristan Beck, the Ports jumped back ahead with a four-run top of the third. Zack Gelof singled to left field to lead off the frame and after advancing to second on an errant pick off throw by Beck, Gelof scored on a single to right by Schofield-Sam to tie the game at two. Richards followed with a two-run home run to left field to give the Ports a 4-2 lead. Nick Brueser then singled to center field and advanced to third when Edison Mora made a throwing error on a ground ball hit by Brayan Buelvas to put runners on first and third with nobody out. Jose Rivas then singled to right field to score Brueser to extend the Stockton lead to 5-2.

Once again though, the Giants came right back to tie the game in the third inning against Infante. Glowenke reached on an error to lead off and scored on a one-out double to right field by Patrick Bailey to cut the Stockton lead to two. Luis Matos then clubbed a two-run home run to left field to tie the game at five.

Against Ports' reliever Luis Florentino, San Jose took the lead for good with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. A walk and two singles loaded the bases with one out for Carter Williams who doubled on a ground ball down the first base line to score two runs, giving the Giants the lead at 7-5. After a wild pitch scored Matos from third, Max Wright lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to score Williams to give the Giants a 9-5 lead.

The Giants added two more in the bottom of the sixth on RBI singles by Glowenke and Matos to increase their advantage to 11-5.

Zack Gelof got a run back for the Ports in the top of the eight inning with an RBI single to right field that scored George Bell from second base to make it 11-6.

Florentino (0-1) took the loss for the Ports allowing six runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings in relief of Infante, while Wil Jensen (8-3) got the win for San Jose with a scoreless sixth inning.
