Ports To Hold Casting Call for Gameday Employment

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Ports, class "A" affiliate of the 2012 American League West Division Champion Oakland Athletics are holding a gameday employment "casting call" on February 16 at Banner Island Ballpark from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Everyone interested in obtaining a gameday position during the 2013 baseball season must attend the casting call. Job seekers are encouraged to park in the main lot at the stadium and enter through the main gate entrance. Ovations Food Services, the official food service company of the Ports, will also be participating on February 16.
 

The reason behind the switch to a casting call to search for seasonal employees is that each worker at Banner Island Ballpark, from ushers and ticket takers to parking attendants and promo crew, are part of a cast that is putting on a show for fans during each game.
 

Job seekers will have the opportunity to fill out an application for a gameday positions and learn more about the positions available. The Ports will not be conducting one-on-one interviews during the casting call. Following the casting call, the Ports will invite a select number of job seekers back to the stadium to interview for open positions. To expedite the process at the "casting call", we're encouraging job seekers to visit www.stocktonports.com in advance to fill out an application.
 

"This year, we are adjusting our application process with the same goal of hiring the best possible employees that are willing to make the gameday experience top notch for our fans," said Ports General Manager Luke Reiff.
 

The Ports are looking for part-time "cast members" in the following roles: promo crew, ushers, ticket office, food service, ticket takers, parking attendants, amusements, souvenir store, press box, grounds crew and bat boys. All successful candidates for the positions listed above must be trustworthy, outgoing, reliable and willing to do the chicken dance. All applicants also must be 16-years of age or older by opening day (April 4) to work for the Ports.
