PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (April 16, 2017) - Kevin Padlo and David Rodriguez both reached base three times, but the Lakeland Flying Tigers beat the Charlotte Stone Crabs 4-2 Sunday afternoon at Charlotte Sports Park.

Four of Charlotte's (2-9) eight hits went for extra bases as they scored in each of the last two innings.

Down 3-0 in the bottom of the eighth, Peter Maris walked before reaching second on a wild pitch. With one out, Brandon Lowe tripled down the left field line to cut the deficit to 3-1.

After Lakeland (5-6) tacked on a run in the ninth, Padlo led off the bottom of the inning with a double to center. After a flyout advanced him to third, Rodriguez drove home Padlo on an infield single to cut the deficit to 4-2. Maris then singled to put the tying run on base, but Manny Sanchez struck out to end the game.

Stone Crabs starter Genesis Cabrera (0-3) did not allow an earned run over five innings of one-hit ball. He struck out three and walked only one.

Left-hander Greg Maisto made his season debut working two innings of one run ball in relief.

The Stone Crabs will embark on a seven-game road trip Monday, opening a four-game series with the Daytona Tortugas. Blake Bivens will be on the mound at 7:05 p.m.
