Stone Crabs Set To Unveil New Mascot On Saturday

November 29, 2016

The Charlotte Stone Crabs are pleased to announce plans to unveil their new mascot at the Charlotte County Chamber's 38th Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 3rd. The parade starts at 12:00 p.m. and takes place in downtown Punta Gorda beginning at Charlotte High School!

At the end of the 2016 season, Stone Crabs mascot 'Stoney' announced his retirement, signaling a new era of baseball in Charlotte County heading into 2017.

"We are very excited to be unveiling the Stone Crabs new mascot!" said Stone Crabs General Manager Jared Forma. "We look forward to the community and all of our great fans embracing the new mascot and to see all of the smiles he will bring whether at the Sports Park or at one of the hundreds of appearances he will be making annually."

The Stone Crabs held a Name the Mascot Contest with fans voting on their favorite name. The contest led to three finalists - Pincher, Clawson and Clawford. On Saturday everyone will know the winning name and exactly what the Stone Crabs new mascot looks like!

Make sure to join the Stone Crabs and other local businesses in the Charlotte County Chamber's 38th Annual Christmas Parade this Saturday! The theme is "Christmas in Paradise"! For more information, visit charlottecountychamber.org
