Stone Crabs Unveil New Mascot...Clawford!

December 5, 2016

On Saturday, December 3rd, the Stone Crabs unveiled their new mascot, Clawford, at the 38th annual Charlotte County Chamber Christmas Parade. The streets were packed with fans awaiting the big reveal and Clawford did not disappoint in his debut.

"We look forward to the community and all of our great fans embracing the new mascot and to see all of the smiles he will bring whether at the Sports Park or at one of the hundreds of appearances he will be making annually," said General Manager Jared Forma.

At the end of the 2016 season, Stone Crabs mascot 'Stoney' announced his retirement, signaling a new era of baseball in Charlotte County heading into 2017.

The Stone Crabs held a Name the Mascot Contest with fans voting on their favorite name. The contest led to three finalists - Pincher, Clawson and Clawford. After one week of voting, Clawford was the frontrunner by a landslide.

Clawford is now available for events in the community! If you are interested in booking the new Stone Crabs mascot for your event, contact Brandon Apter at 941-206-3515 or by email at [email protected]!
