Omaha Storm Chasers fans wondering "Hey Hey Hey Hey, what is going on here" at Werner Park can ponder no more. The organization today has unveiled their full promotions calendar for the 2017 season.
Mr. Belding himself Dennis Haskins from the popular 90's TV series "Saved by the Bell" will appear at Werner Park as part of 90's Night on Saturday, July 15. This year will also include the return of the organization's annual Star Wars Night presented by ParentSavvy.com on Friday, May 5, complete with members of the Central Garrison of the 501st Legion dressed as Star Wars characters, while players and coaches will wear special fan-voted Star Wars Boba Fett themed jerseys that will be auctioned off that evening to benefit The Methodist Hospital Foundation. The organization's Salute to KC Royals presented by Werner Enterprises will return on Saturday, May 20, which will feature a Royals legend on hand along with Sluggerrr and other Royals themed promotions.
Additional theme nights this year include Superhero Night presented by ParentSavvy.com (June 24), Ag Night (July 19), Christmas in July presented by Mannheim Steamroller (July 29), Husker Night (August 3), Harry Potter Night (August 4), Military Appreciation (August 6), and Fan Appreciation Night with the Night of 1,000 Giveaways (September 3). Daddy Daughter Princess Night presented by ParentSavvy.com (July 14) and Mommy & Minion Night presented by Shadow Lake Towne Center (August 5) also return in 2017, with special ticket packages for each evening.
A number of giveaways are on the docket as well, including the four bobblehead giveaways previously announced in Salvy Splash (April 29), Paulo Orlando (June 10), Alex Gordon Superhero (June 24) and Whit Merrifield (July 1) bobbleheads. The first 1,000 fans through the gates of Werner Park on May 27 will receive a Mystery Baseball, with other 2017 giveaway dates including a Drawstring Backpack presented by Huber Chevrolet (July 31), Team Photo (September 2) and the Night of 1,000 Giveaways (September 3) for the first 1,500 fans.
Special musical performances also highlight Storm Chasers promotions, which include a post-game concert on August 11 and a post-game concert on Faith and Family Night on August 12. Omaha Street Percussion is also set to return to Werner Park to perform before, during and after contests on April 15 and September 2. 17 Post-Game Fireworks Spectaculars are scheduled throughout the season, including 12 Hy-Vee Friday Fireworks dates, as well as post-game fireworks extravaganzas on May 28, July 29 and September 3. The annual First National Bank Independence Fireworks will follow the Storm Chasers' contests on July 2-3.
