Homestand Highlights: May 2-5

Star Wars Weekend festivities all homestand long and Husker Night on May 3

OMAHA, Neb. - The Storm Chasers will face off with a divisional foe for the first time this season at Werner Park as the Oklahoma City RedHawks, last year's first round playoff opponent, take on Omaha in a four-game series! While "May The 4th Be With You" is this Sunday, the Storm Chasers are taking it one step further with an entire slate of "Star Wars Weekend" festivities planned for the homestand!

STAR WARS WEEKEND - Friday, May 2 - Monday, May 5

Werner Park has been home to Star Wars celebrations in its first three years, including the Omaha Force jerseys last season on "What If? Night", but the Storm Chasers are the only team in Minor League Baseball this year to dedicate an entire weekend to the classic films! All weekend long, fans dressed in Star Wars apparel will receive $2 OFF Box Seat tickets! Here is a rundown of events planned throughout the weekend:

  • Stars Wars Weekend blasts off on May 2nd with live Character appearances from the 501st Legion and Hy-Vee Friday Fireworks set to Star Wars themed music. Brought to you by: KETV Newswatch 7, NRG Media
  • Live Character appearances from the 501st Legion on May 4th, a Lifegate Church and US Bank Family FUNday featuring the Hardee's Post-Game Kids Run the Bases. Brought to you by: 100.7 The Fish
  • All weekend the "Where's Yoda?" contest takes place inside Werner Park with Star Wars Prize packs to the winners
  • Star Wars themed in-game entertainment throughout the four games of the homestand

HUSKER NIGHT - Saturday, May 3 at 7:05 p.m.

Stay in the Game, Get Screened for Colon Cancer Awareness Night is also Husker Night at Werner Park! The first 1,500 fans through the gate will receive a red Storm Chasers Aluminum Bottle giveaway, on a night that will feature appearances by Nebraska football legends! Set to appear are 1972 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Rodgers, two-time National Champion quarterback Jerry Tagge, two-time All-American and Outland Trophy winner Aaron Taylor, two-time All-Big Eight selection Tony Felici and 1996 Orange Bowl MVP Damon Benning.
