Omaha Storm Chasers and Werner Park to host 2015 Triple-A Baseball All-Star Game

OMAHA, (Neb) - The Omaha Storm Chasers have been selected to host the 28th annual Triple-A Baseball All-Star Game to be held during the week of July 12-15, 2015. The Triple-A All-Star game will take place at Werner Park, and will include several days of exciting events and activities. A committee of nine local business and civic leaders, chaired by Dan O'Neill, president of First National Bank, the event's title sponsor, will serve as the local organizing committee with the support of the Omaha Storm Chasers and Triple-A Baseball.

"We have been working to land the 2015 Triple-A Baseball All-Star Game for three years," said Martie Cordaro, president and general manager of the Omaha Storm Chasers. "We knew we had the organization and facilities that were second-to-none and we wanted the opportunity to show all of Triple-A Minor League Baseball just what Omaha, Werner Park and the Storm Chasers could offer."

For the past 26 summers, the Triple-A Baseball All-Star Game has showcased tomorrow's Major League Stars in a mid-summer classic on the day following the Major League All-Star Game. This summer's game is scheduled to be held in Durham, NC. Eighty-six Triple-A All-Star players have gone on to play in the Major League All-Star Games. Each of the previous contests has delivered its share of dramatic home runs, flashy defensive plays and impressive pitching that has entertained fans and impressed Major League scouts alike.

"Minor League Baseball has hosted the Triple-A All-Star Game since 1988, but never before has it been held in Omaha," said Gary Green, principal owner and CEO of the Omaha Storm Chasers. "We are thrilled that will change in 2015 when all of minor league baseball - players and executives from the International League and the Pacific Coast League - will be introduced to the city, its great baseball fans and enjoy the hospitality of Werner Park."

Omaha Storm Chasers' ticket package holders (season ticket, half-season or mini-plan) will be given the first opportunity to purchase tickets. Dates for ticket sales will be announced in the future.

The game will be broadcast before a nationwide television audience on MLB Network, keeping Omaha in the spotlight when it comes to major sporting events.
