Julks Sets New Career High in Space Cowboys Road Trip Finale

(ROUND ROCK, Texas) – Through 85 games last season, Corey Julks hit 14 home runs, setting his career high at the time.

On Sunday afternoon, in his 59th game of the season, he set a new career high, belting his 15th home run. Julks leads the Sugar Land Space Cowboys in homers and is tied for third in the Pacific Coast League. He is also tied for sixth of all Triple A players.

Julks’ two-run ninth inning homer came as part of an 8-3 loss to the Round Rock Express at Dell Diamond.

Despite the loss, the Space Cowboys took four-of-six from Round Rock on the road trip and are winners of seven of their last nine games.

Alex De Goti drove in the other run for the Space Cowboys, with a sacrifice fly in the third.

Jake Meyers and Taylor Jones continued their MLB Rehab Assignments, each making their 11th start with Sugar Land. Jones started in left field and Meyers started in center field, going 1-for-4.

Nick Solak went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in three runs, and Meibrys Viloria went 2-for-3 with a double and solo home run to lead the Round Rock offense.

The Space Cowboys return to Constellation Field for a six-game series against the Tacoma Rainiers, beginning at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
