Skeeters Set to Enter Triple A Final Stretch

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) – The Sugar Land Skeeters are set to join all Triple A teams for the 10-game Triple A Final Stretch, which the Skeeters begin with a five-game road series against the El Paso Chihuahuas, starting at 8:05 p.m. on Thursday at Southwest University Park. The Skeeters return

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) – The Sugar Land Skeeters are set to join all Triple A teams for the 10-game Triple A Final Stretch, which the Skeeters begin with a five-game road series against the El Paso Chihuahuas, starting at 8:05 p.m. on Thursday at Southwest University Park.

The Skeeters return home for a five-game series against the Round Rock Express, beginning at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Constellation Field. The Skeeters will finish out the Triple A Final Stretch on Oct. 3 vs. the Express at Constellation Field.

Tickets for Triple A Final Stretch games at Constellation Field are on sale and can be purchased by visiting sugarlandskeeters.com/tickets.

The Skeeters, along with all Triple A Teams, will take part in the “Homers That Help” Minor League Baseball initiative to benefit 501(c)3 charities in each team’s respective city. For every home run the Skeeters hit during the Triple A Final Stretch, $50 will be donated to Sugar Land Little League. If the Skeeters hit the most home runs of all teams during the Triple A Final Stretch, an additional $5,000 will be donated to Sugar Land Little League.

A Triple A Final Stretch winner will be determined by the team with the highest winning percentage following the 10-game stretch. The winning team will be provided a prize from Major League Baseball.

The list of tiebreakers to determine the Triple A Final Stretch winner include:

1. Best regular season winning percentage.

2. Regular season head-to-head record (if three or more clubs are tied, the best winning percentage in games among the Clubs).

3. Best regular season winning percentage over the final 20 games.

4. Best regular season winning percentage over the final 21 games, etc.

The Skeeters closed out their first regular season as the Triple A affiliate of the Houston Astros with an 8-7 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Tuesday night at Constellation Field. The Skeeters clinched the Triple A West East Division title in their inaugural season as an affiliated minor league baseball franchise.
