(ROUND ROCK, Texas) – The Sugar Land Space Cowboys set a franchise record Friday night at Dell Diamond, extending their winning streak to seven games.

Enmanuel Valdez delivered a two-run homer and RBI single to help drive the Space Cowboys to a 6-5 win over the Round Rock Express.

The Space Cowboys now own the longest active winning streak in Minor League Baseball.

Valdez hit a two-run homer to right field in the first inning, giving him six through his first nine games with the Space Cowboys. He is tied for first in the Pacific Coast League with six home runs in June.

Round Rock scored a pair in the first as well. Taylor Jones untied the game with an RBI single in the third. Jones, who was the designated hitter Friday, drove in his seventh run in the 10th start of his MLB Rehab Assignment. Jake Meyers also made the 10th start of his rehab stint, starting in center field and going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Valdez struck again in the fifth, driving in Alex McKenna with a line drive single to right. McKenna, who drove in the game-winning run Thursday, followed with a two-run single in the sixth.

Pedro León finished the night 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base. He is tied for first in the PCL with 16 doubles and is tied for fourth with 17 stolen bases.

Willie Calhoun hit a two-run homer in the first – and Josh Sale a solo shot in the ninth – to lead the Round Rock offense.

The Space Cowboys and Express continue with game five of their six-game series at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday. The Space Cowboys will send Houston Astros No. 1 prospect Hunter Brown to the mound, with Round Rock scheduled to start righty Cole Winn.
