(EL PASO, Texas) *– The *Sugar Land Space Cowboys erased a four-run deficit and quelled a bases-loaded jam on their way to a win Saturday night vs. the El Paso Chihuahuas.

JJ Matijevic delivered a go-ahead RBI double in the top half of the ninth and Enoli Paredes locked the victory down with his eighth save of the year in a 7-6 win at Southwest University Park.

The Space Cowboys took the lead in the ninth on doubles from JJ Matijevic and Taylor Jones. David Hensley opened the inning with a double of his own and came around to score on Jones’ hit, with Matijevic driving in Jones with his double down the right-field line.

El Paso jumped out to a 5-1 lead following a three-run sixth, which included a two-run homer from Luis Liberato.

The Space Cowboys answered right back with a four-run seventh inning. Hensley and Scott Manea provided RBI doubles, Justin Dirden added an RBI single and Hensley scored on a throwing error from El Paso shortstop CJ Hinojosa.

It was the second run-scoring hit of the night for Dirden, who had had an RBI single to get the Space Cowboys on the board in the first.

Enoli Paredes logged his eighth save of the year with a scoreless ninth, stranding the bases loaded as Matt Beaty grounded out to first to end the game.

JP France struck out five batters through five innings and allowed two runs, lowering his ERA to 4.31 on the year. He's third in the Pacific Coast League with 116 strikeouts and is fourth with his 4.31 ERA.

The Space Cowboys have won nine of their first 11 games in August.

Jonathan Bermudez is scheduled to start the series finale for the Space Cowboys at 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, with the Chihuahuas set to start Pedro Avila.
