Taylor Jones Hits Grand Slam in Space Cowboys Blowout Win

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) *– The *Sugar Land Space Cowboys continued their offensive surge Friday, hitting five home runs, including a grand slam, in an 11-5 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes.

Taylor Jones provided the grand slam in the fourth, which was the second slam from the Space Cowboys this season and Jones’ third since joining the Space Cowboys. Jones has eight RBI over his last seven games.

Alex De Goti got the Space Cowboys on the board with a three-run shot in the second. It was his eighth home run of the year and traveled 429 feet. Scott Manea delivered a solo shot to left in the fourth, giving him his first longball of the season.

Jose Siri continued his tear since joining the Space Cowboys, going 3-for-6 with a solo homer and three runs scored. Siri has hit .438 (7x13) with three home runs and six RBI in three games since being optioned to the Space Cowboys.

Jones hit his grand slam, which traveled 453 feet, in the fourth and Enmanuel Valdez directly followed with a solo homer. Valdez leads all Houston Astros minor leaguers with 18 home runs and has hit seven through his first 19 games with the Space Cowboys.

Corey Julks had his second consecutive multi-hit effort, going 2-for-5 with an RBI and run scored.

Peter Solomon matched his season high with six innings, striking out five to pick up his second straight winning decision.

The Space Cowboys have won back-to-back nights, evening the six-game series at 2-2 and outscoring the Isotopes 26-5.

Chad Donato is scheduled to get the start for the Space Cowboys at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday at Isotopes Park, with Albuquerque scheduled to start Ashton Goudeau.
