Chiefs Announce Partnership With Destiny USA

Team to open Holiday Kiosk in Destiny USA this weekend
December 12, 2013

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to announce a partnership with Destiny USA, one of the pre-eminent business leaders in Central New York, as part of the Chiefs' ongoing commitment to building and maintaining strong community relationships. The partnership will begin this month with the Chiefs opening a Holiday Kiosk at Destiny USA.

"One of the goals of the new Syracuse Chiefs is to get out and listen to our community", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. "For Destiny USA to look at the Chiefs and initiate the desire to partner with us tells us we are going in the right direction with our vision. It also expresses volumes about Destiny USA's commitment to this community."

The vision of partnering the Chiefs with Destiny USA became a reality when Destiny USA Executive David Aitken, Destiny USA General Manager Rob Schoeneck, Chiefs Team President Bill Dutch and Smorol joined together with Pyramid Companies founder and managing partner Robert Congel for an informal meeting. After approximately an hour of discussing a shared love of baseball and community, a new partnership was born.

"It is with great pleasure that Destiny USA is forming this partnership with the Chiefs and welcoming them during the busiest and most exciting time of the year," David Aitken, of Destiny USA, stated. "They will be a great addition to all of the activity happening on site and we're thrilled to work with them."

The partnership will begin with the opening of a Syracuse Chiefs Holiday Kiosk, scheduled for this Friday, December 13th. The kiosk will be located in the New Canyon area by Cantina Laredo and The Melting Pot - and for the holidays, right next to Santa Claus. Chiefs fans can visit the kiosk to purchase merchandise and season tickets, while Chiefs employees will use the location to meet more members of the community. Syracuse mascots Scooch and Pops are also scheduled to appear at the kiosk this upcoming weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Further dates and hours for the kiosk will be released shortly through syracusechiefs.com and the Chiefs' official Facebook and Twitter pages.
