Wednesday's game between the Syracuse Chiefs and Toledo Mud Hens has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Thursday afternoon at 12:05 p.m., moved up from the previously-scheduled 6:35 p.m. start time.
The game time has been moved up because of Thursday's weather forecast, which calls for evening rain. The Chiefs and Mud Hens will only meet for one more series this season - August 7-9 in Toledo.
"We are moving up the scheduled game time because it provides us the best chance to play both games", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol, "especially since the Mud Hens do not return to Syracuse this year. Now we can turn our first Dollar Thursday of the season into a spring-break special!"
Gates will open at 11 a.m. for Thursday's doubleheader, the first Dollar Thursday of the season, presented by 95X. At every Thursday home game this season, fans can enjoy $1 Hofmann hot dogs, $1 Coca-Cola products and $2 Coors, Labatt, Saranac products and 1911 hard ciders.
Right-hander Jacob Turner is set to throw in game one for the Chiefs against Toledo left-hander Chad Bell. The game-two starters are yet to be announced.
