Syracuse Chiefs announce first round of guests for Hot Stove

Annual event set to take place on Friday, February 1
January 16, 2013
Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to announce the first round of guests for this year's annual Hot Stove. Chiefs Manager Tony Beasley and pitching coach Greg Booker will be joined at the head table by Washington Nationals Assistant General Manager Bryan Minniti, Director of Player Development Doug Harris, and Director of Minor League Operations Mark Scialabba, as well as International League President Randy Mobley.

Beasley will return to Syracuse this year for his second season as the team's skipper. In 2012, he led the Chiefs to a 70-74 record and saw 12 different Syracuse players promoted to Washington. Beasley has been named a Manager of the Year three different times in the minor leagues by Baseball America.

Last year Booker guided Chiefs hurlers to a 3.95 ERA and the fewest walks allowed in the International League. The 2013 season will be his fourth in a Syracuse uniform, making him the longest tenured member of the current coaching staff

Washington front office executives Minniti, Harris, and Scialabba all played integral roles in assembling the Nationals team that posted the best record in Major League Baseball last season. The Nats finished the year with a 98-64 record and the franchise's first division title since moving to DC in 2005.

The upcoming season will be Mobley's 22nd as President of the International League. He is a two-time recipient of the Warren Giles Award for outstanding service by a Minor League President (1994, 2002) and was Baseball America's 2002 Minor League Executive of the Year.

The 2013 Hot Stove will take place on Friday, February 1 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Liverpool. A silent auction and cocktail hour will get underway at 5:30pm with the dinner program set to begin at 7:00pm. The event will benefit the Syracuse Chiefs Charitable Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation which implements programs to improve the health and educational opportunities of families and youth in the Central New York community and provides financial assistance to other 501(c)(3) organizations with similar purposes.

The event will also include a brand-new Fan Fest complete with interactive games, activities, displays and photo opportunities that will take place during the cocktail hour. This year's Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame induction class will also be revealed at the Hot Stove.

Tickets for the Hot Stove are $55 for adults, $25 for children 12 and younger and $500 for a table of 10. Fans may purchase tickets in person at the Chiefs ticket office at Alliance Bank Stadium or by calling 315-474-7833 during normal business hours, Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm.
