Syracuse (38-54) scored a run in the top of the tenth inning. With the game tied, 2-2, Tuffy Gosewisch began the tenth on second base, per new extra-innings rules implemented this season. Gosewisch moved to third base on a Bengie González sacrifice bunt. Matt Reynolds followed with a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Gosewisch to put Syracuse up, 3-2.

Pawtucket (44-47) won the game in the bottom of the tenth. Jonathan Ortega began the frame at second base as a pinch runner for Dan Butler. Aneury Tavárez led off with a sacrifice bunt that moved Ortega to third. Tony Renda followed with a single that scored Ortega to tie the game, 3-3. Lind then followed with a two-run home run over the right-field fence that gave the Red Sox a 5-3 win.

The Chiefs got on the board first in the game in the top of the third inning. With one out, Reynolds singled. Andrew Stevenson then grounded into a fielder's choice where Reynolds was out at second base, but Stevenson was safe at first. Adrían Sanchez followed with a double to left field that scored Stevenson for a 1-0 Chiefs lead.

Syracuse added a run in the top of the sixth. With one out and nobody on base, Hernandez smashed a home run over the left-field wall to give the Chiefs a 2-0 edge. Hernandez's eighth home run of the season marked his fourth at McCoy Stadium.

The Red Sox scored an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs, Tavarez hit a ground ball to third.
