Ivar's Inked As Concessions Provider

TACOMA, Wash. -- The Tacoma Rainiers today announced the signing of Ivar's, Inc. as the exclusive concessions provider for Cheney Stadium as part of a new multi-year partnership between the two organizations.

Under the agreement, Ivar's will manage and operate all general concessions, premium dining, and hospitality services at Cheney Stadium during each of the Rainiers home games, concerts and other non-game, year-round specialty events hosted at the ballpark.

"We are extremely proud to welcome Ivar's as the official food and beverage partner for Cheney Stadium and the Tacoma Rainiers," said Aaron Artman, Rainiers team president. "Ivar's is a terrific local Northwest company, and their reputation on the sports side is perhaps even better. They are restaurant people who decided they could provide better food and better service to the sports concession world, and we are thrilled to have them on board."

Ivar's classic fish 'n chips and award-winning clam chowder will be offered throughout the ballpark, alongside hot dogs, hamburgers and other stadium staples available at Kidd Valley locations. In addition to fan favorites such as the 'Best Hot Dog In Baseball', soft drinks from Pepsi, and a great selection of microbrews, guests can now also expect to explore offerings from Beecher's Cheese and a rotation of local food trucks on the biggest nights of the season.

Cheney Stadium stands as the latest sports and entertainment venue to host the Northwest dining icon. Ivar's originally leapt into the sports and entertainment world in 1999 with two stands at Safeco Field before expanding to five locations in venues that now include CenturyLink Field, Husky Stadium, Bank of America Arena and KeyArena.

Established in 1938, Ivar's serves as the longest-standing seafood restaurant chain in Washington's Puget Sound area. After beginning as a single restaurant located along Seattle's waterfront, today, nearly 40 locations bear Ivar's name. Award-winning chowders, soups and sauces are sold internationally as Ivar's thrives as one of the Northwest's most iconic and historically-rich brands.

In celebration of the partnership, Ivar's and the Rainiers are presenting a special online-only Opening Weekend ticket package. The $10 deal includes a reserved seat ticket for one of the first three home games of the 2013 season (Friday, April 12, Saturday, April 13, or Sunday, April 14), a hot dog, Tim's Snacks and a drink.
