Rainiers relievers Ashton Goudeau (1.0) and Ryan Cook (1.0) tossed a pair of scoreless innings out of the bullpen to emphasize another strong day on the mound for Tacoma pitchers.u1:p
Catcher David Freitas (2x4, 2B) center fielder Ian Miller (1x4, R, 3B) and first baseman Gordon Beckham (0x2, RBI, BB) led the way for the Rainiers offense.u1:p
Miller led off the bottom of the fifth with a line-drive triple to center field and came around to score when Beckham launched a sacrifice fly to center to make it 1-0 Tacoma.u1:p
The 51s tied the game in the top of the eighth when Zach Borenstein lifted a sacrifice fly to center and took the lead when Patrick Kivlehan doubled to right field to score Jeff McNeil and make it 2-1 Las Vegas. Ty Kelly's ensuing groundout pushed the 51s' advantage to 3-1.u1:p
Freitas grounded into a double play with the bases loaded in the eighth to pull the Rainiers within one at 3-2.u1:p
The Rainiers and 51s return to action Wednesday morning at 11:35 a.m. for game three of the current four-game series. Right hander Casey Lawrence (6-2, 2.37) will get the start for Tacoma and righty Corey Oswalt (4-4, 5.32) will be on the bump for Las Vegas.u1:p
